How do you maintain your temporary ice rink?
The maintenance of your ice rink plays a major role in the quality of the ice. The frequency and intensity of the maintenance depends on the number of skaters, and the surface area of the ice rink.
If you receive quite a lot of visitors to your ice rink, we recommend that you maintain the ice three times a day. The most desirable moments for this are: once in the morning before the ice rink opens to the public, once during the day and once in the evening after the last skaters are off the ice rink. Removing excess ice scraps improves the smoothness of the ice.
For optimal ice smoothness, we advise you to follow the following step-by-step plan:
1. Remove the top layer of excess ice with the manual ice scrapers;
2. Polishing: smoothing the ice with the ice sweepers (type 1 of 2);
3. Deposit the excess ice in the supplied melting container. Here the ice remains are melted and drained into the sewer system.
